SpidersRain dripped down Annie’s window as she watched the people on the streets below. There was the usual dog walker who wouldn’t pick up their dog’s shit. A stressed out student was running along the sidewalk, occasionally dropping a piece of paper from their backpack.
She looked directly ahead and noticed a man with a dark coat. His exposed muscles caused Annie to turn bright red. Who on earth dressed like that around here
Watching him cross the street, she noticed that he was right below him. From the thin floors, she could hear him knock on the door. Does her father know him
“Who the fuck are you” Annie heard her father shout.
There wasn’t a response. Then, she heard her father let out a blood-curdling scream. After that, she heard footsteps move around downstairs.
With tears in her eyes, she dashed into the closet. God, she hoped that the mystery man was just going to take objects and leave.
Her heart sank when she heard creaks coming from the stairs. Shit, Shit.
Desperately, she pushed her back against the back of the closet and attempted to cover herself with clothes.
The door to her bedroom squeaked open. Every step that the man made, Annie squinted her eyes. Please go away.
The man paced around her bed, throwing what was most likely her bedsheets on the ground. All of a sudden, her closet door swung open. Through parts of the clothes, she could see the man more clearly. He had black hair slicked back and large grey eyes.
Something scurried across Annie’s face, immediately making her scream and give up her location. When the clothes moved, a small spider scrambled away from her. Thanks, asshole.
She looked up at the large man and whimpered. He gave her a small smile and held out a hand.
“Come with me.” He said.
She shook her head.
“You have something that I want.” His demeanor didn’t change.
“Take anything. Just leave me alone” Annie cried.
The man stood there for a second, arm still extended.
“Your father is no longer alive. You have nowhere else to go. Come with me.”
She bawled, wiping tears off with a jacket. Based on the sounds from her father, she knew that something bad happened. Why did this happen
Suddenly, his arms were around her. She tried to fight, but she felt sleepy. Her eyelids fluttered as he picked her up.
“You’ll be home soon.” He told Annie, carrying her out of the closet.
