まだ少年のバデーニはワクワクしていた。
背丈は、まだ大人の半分くらい。
10才にも満たない年齢であった。
しかし、好奇心は誰にも負けなかった。
太陽と月が重なり始め、昼間でも薄暗かった。

当時の天文学は、プトレマイオスの理論は完璧であり
太陽と天とは必然的に完全であり、
天空の決められた航路を巡っているハズだった。
それ以外の”異常な現象”は起こり得ないハズだった。

それが、今、バデーニの目の前で起こっている。
バデーニは興奮して、観測手帳を持ち、部屋を飛び出した。
家庭教師は呆れ顔で見送った。
何かに夢中になったバデーニを止める事は出来なかった。

バデーニは良い観測場所を探して、走り回った。
同じく、手帳を持って走ってくる同じ年頃の少年と出会った。
