A projection of moving slides, camera tricks, and exhilarating background music. Handsome actor done his role as a noble hero to answer the call of the leading lady, while dastardly villain plotted the hero’s demise behind the shadow. Much like the the Aztecs’ dance-play entertainment, a movie’s plot had acts. Tension escalated as the act progressed, reaching its climax as the hero confronted the villain in a dramatic battle, and ending with a charade of explosion as the hero walked away with the heroine in his embrace. Then the credit rolled, and Tezcatlipoca clapped and shouted “Bravo” with the widest smile on his face.

They picked a huge lump of clay and made small figurines out of it, following their wizened priests’ guidance on picking shapes that best represented the divine beings. Then, they brought those figures to the temples as part of many rituals, while some were also sold for the commoners to complete the altar in their houses. Simply put, the figurines brought a small part of divinity to protect their homes.

Serangan mendadak yang dilancarkan para Deinos liar beberapa waktu yang lalu lebih parah daripada yang selama ini terjadi; sesuatu yang lolos dari perhitungan si pemuda bermata ungu. Selama beberapa saat, dia bisa menangkis rahang-rahang mereka yang penuh gigi tajam dengan bantuan ‘teman-teman’nya. Tapi, para Deinos itu terus mendesaknya mundur ke satu titik di hutan yang amat terpencil hingga punggungnya menabrak sebuah pohon besar.

Night Time Wind-down DayTezEvery morning, when Daybit wakes up, the sunlight falls on his face.

Gentle, warm sunlight. Like a little nudge to his side, urging him to get up, yet doesn't want him to leave the bed so early.

He greets the sunlight by running his fingers through it. Playing with the tip of its strands. Admiring its unchanging luster, as if unaffected by the passing of time.

Slender, bony fingers pushed the Marker badge and a knife made of obsidian toward Daybit. The owner of those fingers was clad in a red made-to-order suit, black coat made of the same expensive fabric as the suit was draped on his shoulders in a manner resembling a cape. Daybit was no stranger to crime lords dressing up in an extravagant style. The man before him was no exception, what’s with the necklace with the large, golden sphere pendant with a hole in the middle that hung on his neck. Everything else about him, however, gave the impression that he took his dressing-up to a high degree that it still appeared pleasant to the other party. His long, flaxen hair was tied in a low ponytail style and rested gently on his right shoulder; a contrast to the snake-like features of his face.

足元で焚き火が火の粉を飛ばして軽やかな音を立てる。少し視線を移すと男が煙草を吸っているのが見えた。
白く華奢な指が煙草を持っているのがとても、さまになっていた。
「そんなじっと見つめるなよ」
男はこちらを一瞥もせずそう言った。1度煙を大きく吐き出すと嗤って
「穴が空いちまう」
「悪い」
「いい。おまえはそれでいい」
今度はちゃんとこちらを見た。色の入ったグラスの奥の瞳はじ…っとまるで値踏みをするようにこちらを見つめていた。
「おまえはいい男だ、デイビット。戦士としても男としても」
「その2つに違いはあるのか」
聞き返すと、彼は目を細め
「勿論だ」
と唇の端を歪めた。そして段々と短くなりつつある煙草に口をつけると大きく息を吸い込んだ。彼の薄い胸が空気に微かに膨らむ。
