慌てた様子で走ってきたレプリックに訳を尋ねると

と答えたので、血相を変えて部屋に戻れば、部屋の隅に見知らぬ少年が。

ヘスリヒが着ていたはずの服が緑の絨毯に散らばっており、少年は何も纏わぬ状態で、石煉瓦がむき出しになった床に縮こまって座っている。
長すぎるパサパサした緑の髪、隙間から覗く隈の酷い目元、骨と皮ばかりの体に生えた深紫の鱗……間違いなくヘスリヒだと確信して、ズメイは歩み寄ってしゃがんだ。
「ヘスリヒさん」
声をかけただけなのに、ヘスリヒは
「ヒッ…！な、なんで俺の名前…あっ、すみません勝手に喋って…服も勝手に着ててすみません……脱いだので許してください……痛いのは、やめて下さい…っ」
